About Nancy
Toussaint
From
Haiti, A different image
“I
was born in Haiti on March 9, 1983, the day Pope John Paul the
II visited Haiti. I was born under Haiti's dictatorial Duvalier
regime (Jean Claude "Baby Doc" Duvalier). He was ousted 3 years
three later in 1986, since I was only a child I have no memory or
recollection of the brutal regime and the evil impact it
entrenched on the country. I came to the United States at the age
of 9; the reason for my family coming here was more economical
than political. Looking back on my childhood experience in Haiti,
As far back as I can remember; I've always associated my time in
Haiti as a simple, innocent childhood full of imagination.”
I'm a proud native Haitian; I was born in Fort-Jacques Haiti, I
came to the United States at the tender age of nine and have been
living here ever since. I visit my beloved land of Haiti as
frequently as possible, I have many relatives who still lives
there, I try to help them the best way I can. I'm 22 years old;
I'm a graduate of the Art Institute in Fashion Design. I love
fashion, I love art and I love to design. I’m the author of
Haiti, a different image and Wisdom & Inspiration for the spirit
and soul.
My future goal is to continue publish many
books about Haiti and some of my passions; my next project is to
publish a book about the art of Fashion illustration. I also want
to open my own Boutique of fashion design and accessories. I also
want to start my own fashion line for women including accessories
such as Handbags and shoes, where 5% of the profit will go to
charity to help educate young Haitian girls to become strong,
intelligent, independent women that can change the face of Haiti.
I
would describe my personality as being an introvert, I'm very
complex, unpretentious, and I'm very different; I have a very
bubbling personality and
I'm always laughing and smiling. I'm a thinker, a dreamer, an
intellect, and an idealist. I very analytical and I love to
analyze people.
I'm a very ambitious person, I'm very creative, I have a lot of
goals and dreams and I will hard till I bleed to accomplish my
goals.
My personal motto is: life is really what you make it, if a
door closes, open one, makes things happen, build your own door,
create your own path, make your own opportunity. And keep
building and creating your path until you reach your destiny.
