Biography
¨
Louis Mercier has been exposed to the
performing arts his entire life. He was born in Haiti and
immigrated to Canada in 1979. Like many before him,
television became a baby-sitter to children whose parents
had little free time and who wanted their children to stay
away from the street life. As a result of those long hours
glued to the television screen, Louis caught the acting bug.
He turned his back on wandering the streets aimlessly and
found refuge in drama, using it as a vehicle for
self-expression.
He quickly gained affection for the
performing arts by acting in school plays, mimicking lead
actors, auditioning for independent films and working at his
community television station to prepare him for success.
Through out the years, determined to let his star shine and
fulfil his passion, Louis has risen to be a well-rounded
actor with several films, television and stage experiences.
Recently he formed Soulion Entertainment and added writing,
directing and producing to his credits with TOUSSAINT, ACES
DOWN, EYE & I and DELIVERING SANTIAGO.
Soulion Entertainment is his next goal in life, a
production
company that will produce feature films, television
programming (drama and talk shows), documentaries, and stage
productions to educate and entertain the world while giving
voice to minorities.
Presently
working on several different projects, he can be seen acting
on the television series entitled TEMPS DUR produced by
Cirrus communications inc. for the Radio-Canada network.
With over 5 years of film and television experience in front
and behind the camera, Louis Mercier is completing
post-production on GILLETTE NOIR, THE SHADOW OF MYSELF and
PERFECT PITCH.
