You can go for it, but understand also that this is the net. Even in face-to-face relationships it is har to know people. Now we are talking about possibly long distance r. All would suggest is, if you go for it and succeed, try to not expect too much.

Never say never, it has happened before, you are not the first and definately wouldn't be the last. Who knows the woman might be feeling the same way you do to.
I do agree with Nico some people could be really fake behind the computer, so be careful ( ou konin gin kèk rizèz deyo wa wi). But at the same time there still remain some honest people in the world. Just begin by building a friendship, meet each other and see what happens. Long distance or not if both of you want it to work it will work.(Pay no mind to Nico on this one li se vye jwèt  )
P.S. "Patience is bitter but it's fruits are sweet" bear that in mind.

Is she on this site?
On a serious note, go for it, but before you involve your heart a 100% meet up first. Ask yourself those question when see her, would I had stop and speak to her if I saw her walking down the street. Am I making any alteration in my plan just to fit her in? Nico and Angel point out some good points.
